Earthquake update - Affects on Nitto operations

The following are latest updates on how Nitto Denko has been affected by the devastating 9.0 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami on March 11, the company announced today.

1.Nitto Denko Corporation - Tohoku Plant (Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture) Main products: Medical-related materials
・Power supply in the area is now partially recovered. As for now, buildings and facilities are going to be checked soon.
・When to resume operation is to be announced as soon as prospects become clear.

2.Nitto Denko Corporation - Kanto Plant (Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture)
・There is no significant damage caused to the buildings and facilities. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to follow the normal production schedule, due to the enforced power restrictions put in place.

3.Nissho Corporation - Tohoku Plant (Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture)
・Due to power and water supply recovery, facilities will be checked to prepare for operation.
・It is estimated to take some time to resume plant operation.

4.Nissho Corporation - Iwaki Plant (Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture)
・Due to the ongoing series of accidents at the Fukushima nuclear plant, plant operation has been suspended from March 16 until March 21.

5.All the other Nitto Denko production sites (both inside and outside Japan)
・No damage has been caused to the buildings and facilities. However, it is expected to be more difficult to secure some of our raw materials from suppliers which have been impacted by the disaster, and therefore it may potentially affect our production schedule.
・The situation concerning this matter will be announced as soon as we grasp a clear view of the situation.
