Following the ferocious earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan on March 11, Nitto
Denko Corporation today announced that no significant damage were caused to its employees and
facilities at the moment of earthquake impact.
With a special emergency task force headed by CEO Yukio Nagira, Nitto Denko has been gathering
information on the effects the disaster had on the company. It is now amid its effort to confirm
safety of employees’ family members, as well as employees who had been off-work on that day.
Stated below are the latest situations of the company’s major production sites in northeastern and
eastern regions of Japan, where the disaster impacted the most.
Operation is shut down for the moment due to power and water outage. Resuming operations is yet to be scheduled right now.
There are no earthquake effects that could lead to major damage in the plant’s production capability; however, a scheduled power outage may potentially cause production adjustment.
“We are committed to continue our information gathering effort and concertedly overcome the difficulty,” said Nagira.
